[Le Haut Medoc de Lagrange 2012]
Located in Saint Julien, Chateau Lagrange dates back to 1631, and by 1824, with the benefit of the vineyard drainage system, the estate's production significantly increased from 12,000 cases per year to 30,000 cases. After World War II, the winery did not benefit from the golden economic boom in Europe during the following decade. Its wine quality and estate area both plummeted until 1983 when the winery was acquired by the Japanese Suntory Group. This marked the first entry of an Asian company into a French winery, causing a sensation throughout France and further driving the renovation of the winery's winemaking equipment and the modernization of the vineyards. Suntory Group has held the winery for over 35 years now, and the winery has returned to its former glory, having been rated as a third-growth estate in the 1855 classification. The famous wine manga "The Drops of God" describes Chateau Largrange as "ambitious, using youthful energy, the era of changing the world's wine power dynamics has arrived."Proving that this effort from the Heisei to the Reiwa era has garnered global attention.
The fruit flavors of Le Haut Medoc de Lagrange 2012 are primarily centered around red berries, cherries, licorice, and leather, with a light entry; the body is medium, with a smooth and sweet finish, rich in the complexity of leather.
