[Chateau La Tour Figeac 2015]
James Suckling rating: 93/100
Chateau La Tour Figeac has a pure, clean, and authentic aroma, with hints of blackcurrant lozenges, raspberry jam, and autumn leaves. The palate is medium, with soft tannins and slightly lower acidity. It offers a good substance, although I found it somewhat harsh in the finish, lacking the vitality of its peers.I hope it will improve in the bottle.Unlike its more famous neighbors from the Saint-Émilion region, the low-key Chateau la Tour Figeac follows the most delicate Bordeaux traditional methods and always adheres to manual production and organic principles, maintaining high standards for the quality of picking, processing, and winemaking.
"Chateau La Tour Figeac 2015 presents a medium to deep garnet red color, with aromas of dried roses, dust, and fallen leaves, complemented by a hint of cured meat on a core of roasted cherries and plum preserves."Rich, concentrated, and chewy, it performs well but finishes a bit rough.
Grape varieties:
65% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc
