[Chateau Lanessan 2016]
Robert Parker rating: 90/100
Her wine is of superior quality and well-known in the Bordeaux region. However, during the establishment of the classification system in 1855, the chateau owner Louis Delbos missed the opportunity because he did not send in a sample for consideration. The famous wine critic Robert Parker once said, "This is an outstanding wine from the Haut Medoc region."If this wine had participated in the 1855 classification, it should have been ranked as a "Fifth Growth."Later, in 1878, Andre Delbos officially established Chateau Lanessan, which is comparable to the renowned second-growth estate Gruaud-Larose located in the Haut Medoc region.
"Chateau Lanessan 2016 has a fragrant floral aroma with graphite-colored black fruit, and its refined profile is impressive, even though it is not the most complex Hunt Medoc wine I encountered in this barrel-aged vintage; the body is medium, the tannins are smooth, the acidity is just right, filled with the essence of black fruit, and the finish is harmonious, charming, and slightly tarry."This is an excellent Chateau Lanessan that should bring 20 years of enjoyment.Highly recommended."
