[Le Pin Pomerol 2014]
Robert Parker rating: 93/100
Chateau Le Pin's fine wine is well-known throughout Bordeaux, and its luxurious prices have far surpassed those of the five major châteaux.Located on the right bank in Pomerol, the estate covers only one hectare, making it a benchmark for the later rise of Garage Wines on the right bank! The development of Chateau Le Pin is a legend, or one could say a miracle. The winery rarely blends, primarily using 100% Merlot, and ages it in brand new oak barrels, clarifying the yeast every three months.Chateau Le Pin has an annual production of only 500 to 700 cases, with limited quantity and high quality. Due to its limited production, it is highly sought after by international collectors and is a dream wine for many wine enthusiasts.Chateau Le Pin can sell for a high price for a reason; the rich, complex yet balanced style of Le Pin is hard to resist, and the experience of tasting it feels like being enveloped in a thick fog, floating in a dream, unable to extricate oneself.
"The aroma of Le Pin Pomerol 2014 is very lovely." When tasted alongside its "cousin" Vieux-Château-Certan, it is more exotic and outgoing, but it maintains a fine profile and complexity, with upfront blueberry and black cherry fruit flavors, and a quite pronounced mint note that emerges over time. The palate has a medium body, with a sweet and accommodating entry. The juicy tannins make it smooth, although they are counterbalanced by a silver bead-like acidity. In the finish, a hint of salty licorice suddenly emerges.
Grape variety:
100% Merlot
