[Chateau Lafite Rothschild 1986]
Robert Parker rating: 100/100
Chateau Lafite Rothschild is a red wine from the Pauillac region of Bordeaux, France. It is one of the five first-growth estates from the 1855 classification and is owned by the renowned Rothschild family. Chateau Lafite's reputation is indeed well-known; whenever people mention top-tier red wine, many immediately think of Lafite. As for the quality of Lafite, regardless of the vintage, introducing Lafite is pointless; its illustrious reputation speaks volumes even in silence.Upon careful tasting, this wine has a beautiful, gentle, and generous soul, with an elegant, refined, and delicate wine style.
"Chateau Lafite Rothschild 1986 is still one of the greatest Chateau Lafite Rothschilds of the past 50 years, and it obviously comes from my cellar; I have been buying it since its release." This is a 100-point red wine.Still incredibly young, but beginning to show some cedar, graphite, and blackcurrant flavors, medium-bodied, like many Chateau Lafite Rothschilds, but with astonishing concentration and relative lightness. The tannins still need to be resolved, and this wine seems to be about ten years away from full maturity. It has already been 30 years, which is quite remarkable!
Grape variety:
69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot
