[Jean Gautreau 2007]
Château Sociando-Mallet is a wine estate located in the northern Médoc (the wine is bottled under the Haut-Médoc appellation) and is generally considered to be on par with many classified estates.Although it did not appear in the 1855 Bordeaux classification, the property was ranked fifth in the unofficial 2011 version by the wine trading website Liv-Ex.It is known for producing rich, classically structured wines. The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled concrete and stainless steel vats. The selected batch for Sociando-Mallet is aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels.
"Deep red."A faint hint of blackcurrant.A sweet beginning. The texture on the nose is very light, but the tannins are very firm. It's hard to find such a vintage with this level of acidity!
Grape varieties:
55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc
