Château Sociando-Mallet is a wine estate located in the northern Médoc (the wine is bottled under the Haut-Médoc appellation) and is generally considered to be on par with many classified estates.Although it did not appear in the 1855 Bordeaux classification, the property was rated fifth in the unofficial 2011 version on the wine trading website Liv-Ex.It is known for producing rich, classically structured wines.The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled concrete and stainless steel vats.The selected batch for Sociando-Mallet is aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels.
"Jean Gautreau 2002 presents a more concentrated version than the regular bottling—in fact, these two wines look more similar than most vintages." A slight acidity but not as pronounced.
