[Chateau Grand Pontet 2017]

Chateau Grand Pontet was acquired by the Becot family from the Barton and Guestier families in 1980. If the surname Becot sounds familiar, it's because they also own the famous classified growths on the right bank of Bordeaux, France—Chateau Beau-Sejour Becot, Chateau La Gomerie in Saint-Emilion, and Chateau Joanin Becot in Cotes de Castillon.

The Distillers Edition also won the Best Single Malt Whisky Under 15 Years Old award at the competition in 2006.Other awards include the World Whisky Awards 2016: Best Scottish Whisky, Lowland Single Malt Whisky 2016, and Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

The 2017 Grand-Pontet presents a medium to deep garnet red color, with aromas of roasted raspberries, cherry liqueur, and blackberry jam, accompanied by subtle notes of dried roses, incense, and dried leaves.The body is medium, with a smooth, lively, and juicy fruitiness, featuring simple flavors and good balance.

70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon
