Chateau Gruaud Larose was classified as a second growth in 1855 and is located in Saint Julien on the left bank of Bordeaux.Gruaud Larose has 84 hectares of vineyards, which is extremely rare in the Médoc.Located on the gravel-rich plateau west of Chateau Beychevelle.Its wine—a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc—despite its royal connections, is still considered tannic and unappealing by some young drinkers, but with bottle age, it is expected to become a harmonious and charming wine. "The color remains an opaque garnet/plum/purple."The wine has notes of licorice, a lot of blackcurrant, and faint hints of licorice, earth, and tar.The wine has a rich, almost impenetrable texture, but the tannins are sweet and textured, which is a hallmark of this great vintage.It will enjoy a good development for 50 years.
