[Chateau Figeac 1982]
Chateau Figeac is a winery in the Saint-Émilion region of Bordeaux, classified as a 1er Grand Cru Classé B.It is the largest estate in Saint-Émilion, with 40 hectares (99 acres) of vineyards. Therefore, although Chateau Figeac is located on the right bank of Bordeaux, it shares certain similarities with the wines of Médoc and Graves. The wine is one of the most famous in Saint-Émilion, aged in 100% new oak barrels. "The 1982 vintage has a deep purple-pomegranate color, slightly glowing at the edges, followed by the exquisite aromas of Figeac: mint, fruitcake, Asian spices, a wealth of sweet black and red fruits, and a smoky note in the background."Medium to full-bodied with lovely freshness, this 1982 wine seems to have reached full maturity, but it tastes just as it did a decade ago, and it should maintain this level for another 10-20 years.
