[Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou 1982]
Robert Parker rating: 97/100
Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou is named after the beautiful stones found in its unique soil, with "Beaucaillou" meaning "beautiful stone."Unlike other Bordeaux châteaux, Château Ducru Beaucaillou is built directly above the cellars where the wine is stored, allowing the residents here to be immersed in the lingering aroma of wine every evening. Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou borders the southern part of Pauillac, adjacent to the Beychevelle plateau and near Margaux. Therefore, some believe that the terroir characteristics of Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou are influenced by its geographical location, giving it both elegance and texture, and in some vintages, it can even rival first-growth estates.
"Chateau Ducru Beacaillou 1982 is solid and structured, still exhibiting a rich ruby/plum/garnet color, with a full-bodied palate rich in cedar wood, black currants, and forest floor flavors. This is a wine that can be enjoyed now, but its best days are still ahead."
Grape variety:70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot
