Pessac Leognan, as a legally defined sub-region of Bordeaux, should be considered the youngest.Since its independence as an appellation in 1987, it has only been 30 years, but this youngest appellation is already capable of standing out among the crowd.

The Pessac-Leognan region originally belonged to the Graves region and consisted of two wine villages: Pessac and Leognan.As early as the 1855 Bordeaux classification of first growths, three out of the four first growths were in the Médoc, and the only one not in the Médoc was Haut-Brion (also known as Haut-Biron).And the Haut-Biron winery is located in the Pessac village.
