[Chateau Chasse Spleen 2017]
The origin of the special name "Chateau Chasse Spleen" is most commonly attributed to the British poet Byron. When he visited the winery in 1821 and took a sip of the wine offered by the owner, he exclaimed, "Quel remede pour chasser le spleen." (What a remedy to chase away the spleen!) The term "Chasse-spleen" comes from this.(Hong Kong also calls it Chasiu Bing - directly translated from its French name)
The winery began to flourish in the latter half of the 19th century, but unfortunately, it missed the 1855 classification. However, in fact, its price had surpassed many classified estates by the end of the 19th century. And the famous wine critic Robert Parker once said: "This is an outstanding wine from the Moulis-en-Médoc region. If this wine had participated in the 1855 classification system, it would absolutely be valued as a 'Third Growth'."
The aroma of Chateau Chasse Spleen 2017 is clearly dominated by fresh fruits, and the maturation of the wine in barrels is reflected through spicy and roasted flavors. As the wine ages, these flavors become more pronounced. The taste is fresh, with the soft tannins of Cabernet Sauvignon enhancing the wine's tight structure, which is evidently very successful in this vintage. Château Chasse-Spleen 2017 vintage has a dreamy finish, and its aging potential allows it to develop perfectly between 2040-2045.

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc
