Château Coutet is a top Cru Sauternes producer located in the Barsac region of Bordeaux. It is one of the oldest producers in Sauternes, with the longest cellar in the region, measuring 110 meters. Coutet means "knife" in Gascon, signifying the freshness and acidity of the sweet wine.Château Coutet is primarily composed of Sémillon, with a small amount of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. The grapes grow in clay and limestone soils, imparting a unique mineral flavor to the sweet botrytized wine.
