Chateau Rieussec is located in the Sauternes region of Bordeaux and is renowned for producing sweet, luscious white wines. The vineyards of Chateau Rieussec are situated on the hillsides of the villages of Sauternes and Fargues, adjacent to Chateau d'Yquem. As one of the largest estates in Sauternes, Chateau Rieussec's vineyard covers an area of 93 hectares. Chateau Rieussec was classified as a first growth in the 1855 Sauternes and Barsac classification and became part of Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite in 1984, marking a significant period of development. In order to fully tap into the terroir potential of Chateau Rieussec, Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite constructed new cellars and winemaking facilities, adding modern equipment to the grape sorting room and pressing room, thereby better showcasing the potential of Chateau Rieussec.
"The Carmes de Rieussec 2015 presents a pale to medium golden color, with lovely aromas of lemon meringue, orange marmalade, and apricot, along with a hint of musky perfume and candied ginger; the medium-bodied wine is rich in fruit flavors, with an enticing salty note and a touch of earthy character, blending with the candied citrus flavors, finishing very fresh with a long aftertaste."
Grape varieties:
87% Semillon, 7% Sauvignon Blanc, 6% Muscadelle
