Château Cos Labory is a solid 5th Growth that offers excellent value. The 2012 vintage, which favored Merlot, produced a wonderfully charming and approachable expression of the typically robust Saint-Estèphe appellation. Now fully mature, it reveals an engaging bouquet of ripe cassis, dark plum, sweet cigar box, roasted herbs, and subtle smoke. Medium-bodied and exceptionally smooth on the palate, the tannins have resolved into a velvety texture, supporting a core of sweet, accessible dark fruit. Drinking beautifully right now.
