The 2012 Château de Camensac is a wonderfully voluptuous, approachable wine. The vintage favored Merlot, and the estate capitalized on its parcels to craft a wine of immense charm and immediate appeal. It pours a deep ruby and offers an intoxicating bouquet of blackberry jam, roasted plum, herbs, chocolate, and subtle smoke. Medium to full-bodied, lush, and velvety on the palate, the tannins are exceptionally soft and rounded, wrapping around a core of sweet dark fruit. Drinking beautifully right now.
