[Le Clarence Haut Brion 2014]
Robert Parker rating: 91/100
Chateau Haut Brion is a winery with a legendary reputation: it is the only one of the 61 classified growths in Bordeaux not located in the Medoc region, and it is also the only top Bordeaux winery that produces both red and white wines.Additionally, although it is the smallest estate among the five great Bordeaux châteaux, it was the first to gain fame.Chateau Haut Brion is aged in new oak barrels for 20 to 24 months, possessing a unique mineral character, exuding rich aromas of dark fruits, cigars, chocolate, and cedar wood, with an extremely complex palate; it appears restrained and smooth at first, but quickly reveals a powerful sensation, with an exceptionally long finish.
"Le Clarence Haut Brion 2014 has sweet tobacco and floral aromas, along with a hint of currant fruit." The wine is full-bodied, firm, and tight. Chewy tannins. A lively second label from Harlan, with rich undertones and tension."
Grape variety:
80% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon
