[Le Clarence Haut Brion 2011]
James Suckling rating: 92/100
Chateau Haut Brion is a winery with a legendary reputation: it is the only one of the 61 classified growths in Bordeaux not located in the Medoc region, and it is also the only top Bordeaux winery that produces both red and white wines.Additionally, although it is the smallest estate among the five great Bordeaux châteaux, it was the first to gain fame.Chateau Haut Brion is aged in new oak barrels for 20 to 24 months, possessing a unique mineral character, exuding rich aromas of dark fruits, cigars, chocolate, and cedar wood, with an extremely complex palate; it appears restrained and smooth at first, but quickly reveals a powerful sensation, with an exceptionally long finish.
"This is an impressive second wine, with delicious aromas of red and black currants, spice box, and earth interwoven with the floral notes that are a hallmark of the 2011 Le Clarence de Haut-Brion." The palate is complex, with silky tannins, a medium to full body, and a long finish. This vintage wine can be enjoyed early or cellared for 10-15 years.
Grape variety:
71% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc & 1% Petit Verdot
Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
