Barolo is known as the ""King of Wines,"" and Giovanni Rosso's single-vineyard 'Cerretta' is a majestic expression of this title. Located in Serralunga d'Alba, Cerretta is famous for producing powerful, structured Barolos. The 2018 vintage, however, brings a beautiful layer of elegance to this normally muscular Cru. It reveals a classic, highly complex bouquet of dried rose petals, macerated cherries, tar, licorice, and deep earth. Full-bodied, it boasts the commanding high acidity and firm, gripping tannins characteristic of Nebbiolo, yet with a highly refined, polished edge. Requires patience but promises immense reward.
