[Chateau Belgrave 2016]
Robert Parker: 92/100
Belgrave belongs to the Fifth Growths of Bordeaux. The Fifth Growth Château Belgrave is located in the Haut-Médoc region of St. Lawrence, just a stream away from the border with Saint-Julien, making it one of the oldest estates in the area.
The wine has a rich aroma, with hints of small black cherries, blueberries, and crushed violets, quite reminiscent of Margaux wines—just like its style. The body of the wine here is indeed quite good. The palate has a medium body, starting off smooth: blackberry, mint, and cedar. From the very beginning, there is excellent tension, and by the finish, there is a very impressive structure with a long, salty aftertaste. This is a powerful follow-up to Belgrave in 2015, and in fact, it might even surpass it.
Grape variety:
69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot y 3% Petit Verdot
