[Benjamin Leroux La Perriere Gevrey Chambertin Premier Cru 2015]
La Perriere is located in the southern part of Gevrey-Chambertin, and the vineyard's name - "perrière" - refers to its former occupation as a quarry. La Perriere wines, based on Pinot Noir, have a medium body, soft tannins, and earthy red fruit flavors.
"Benjamin Leroux La Perriere Gevrey Chambertin Premier Cru 2015 is Benjamin's flagship village wine, with a total of over 9,000 bottles, primarily from Les Sevrées and La Justice (two-thirds and one-third, respectively)." It has refreshing aromas of blackberry and red currant, with a hint of red tea. Medium-bodied on the palate, juicy tannins, balanced acidity, and a long finish. This is a commendable country cru, the kind you would immediately pull from the restaurant list.
Grape variety:
100% Pinot Noir
