【Chateau Beau-Sejour-Becot 2013】
Chateau Beau-Sejour-Becot is located in the Saint-Emilion region on the right bank of Bordeaux. Like many classified estates in Saint-Emilion, this winery has a rich family history.
In the 1959 classification, Chateau Beau-Sejour-Becot was rated as a Premier Grand Cru Classé B by the Saint-Emilion Chamber of Commerce. However, during the 1985 evaluation, it was downgraded to Grand Cru due to its vineyard's development not meeting the standards. It remained at this level for a decade until being elevated back to Premier Grand Cru Classé B in 1996, thanks to its gradually improving performance.
By the mid-20th century, the estate changed hands twice, with the last transaction occurring in 1969 when the Becot family purchased it. They added their name to the end of the winery's full title, resulting in its current name.
The wine has a medium to full body with a round and elegant mouthfeel, featuring rich and mature notes of plum, black truffle, and toasted oak. It has a balanced structure and a long finish.
Grape Varieties:
- Merlot 70%
- Cabernet Franc 24%
