[Chateau Branaire Ducru 2014]
Robert Parker rating: 89/100
Chateau Branaire Ducru is one of the first wineries in the Bordeaux region to use gravity handling methods, avoiding the use of pumps and excessive new oak barrels. The fruit from each plot is vinified separately to ensure that each barrel of wine is produced under the most ideal conditions.Since 2000, the quality of Château Branaire-Ducru's red wine has been improving, but the price has remained moderate, making it one of the most affordable among the Bordeaux classified growths.Chateau Branaire-Ducru has a rich and expressive aroma of ripe yet fresh fruits. This wine from Saint Julien develops into a dense, complex, and perfectly balanced wine with excellent acidity.
"Chateau Branaire-Ducru 2014 on the nose combines red and black fruits, exuding tobacco and delightful vine aromas."The palate is soft, with a slight graininess, allowing for a good balance of acidity. The finish has a slightly avant-garde feel, needing just more depth and greater drive.Although I hope the bottling improves, it's not bad for the vintage. Both tastings maintained consistent quality.
Grape variety:
65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot y 2% Cabernet Franc.
Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
