Ardbeg Wee Beastie is a deliberately youthful, wildly aggressive expression of Islay single malt. Aged for just 5 years, it is intentionally untamed by the oak, allowing the distillery's raw, ferocious peaty character to dominate. It explodes on the nose with intense aromas of cracked black pepper, pine resin, tar, and savory smoked meats. The palate is a formidable onslaught of fiery spice, salty sea spray, and thick, oily peat smoke, eventually yielding to a surprisingly chocolatey, slightly sweet finish. Not for the faint-hearted.
