[Chateau Angelus 2009]
Robert Parker rating: 99/100
Château Angélus is a renowned winery located in the Saint-Émilion region in the northeast of Bordeaux. The property is located in a coveted spot on the western side of the town of Saint-Émilion, on a gentle south-facing slope of the Saint-Émilion plateau. It produces a luxurious, long-lived Merlot-Cabernet Franc wine that is often highly rated by critics. The grand wine is aged in new oak barrels for about 18 months before bottling. Then, it will be stored in the bottle for at least five years before being released, but due to the concentration, weight, and structure of Angélus, which usually allow the wine to evolve over decades, it can be aged for even longer.
"Chateau Angelus 2009 has an almost impenetrable black/purple color and a magnificent bouquet, including incense, graphite, blackberry liqueur, truffles, and spring flowers."This wine has a rich body, a lush texture, intense and pure fruit aromas, a finish that lingers for nearly a minute, and sweet, smooth tannins. The stunning Angelus deserves to be among the best wines.
Grape Varieties:
60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc
Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
