Saint Estephe is the northernmost of the four famous sub-regions in Haut-Medoc.The total area of grape cultivation reaches 1,200 hectares, ranking second among the four famous sub-regions in Haut-Médoc, only behind Margaux, but the development of the wine industry has been later than the other three sub-regions.Therefore, in the 1855 classification of châteaux, only five châteaux from this sub-region made the cut, making it the sub-region with the fewest classified estates among the four sub-regions.However, this still does not hinder it from producing excellent wines.

Cos Labory 2014

Chateau Cos Labory 2014 is always underestimated during en primeur, but when tasted from barrel, this vintage shows promise. It has a bouquet of clean graphite and scorched earth, but lacks the complexity and tension of its peers; the palate is medium-bodied, with soft tannins and just the right amount of acidity, actually showing more potential than the nose suggests, with a commendable purity on the finish.If the aroma could evolve to have more personality, this would be a respectable Chateau Cos Labory.

De Pez 2018

Spices and dark berries, along with some nutmeg and cedar. The body is medium to full, with delicate tannins and a refined, beautiful finish. So refined. Tight balance.

Ormes de Pez 2017

The 2017 Ormes de Pez presents a medium to deep garnet color, with aromas of black cherry and blackcurrant at its core, exuding scents of earth, stewed tea, and tobacco, along with the essence of forest floor.The body is medium, with a palate full of juicy black fruit flavors, a grainy texture, a long finish, and a mineral taste.

Chateau Lafon Rochet 2017

"Smoky and tobacco aromas, with some hints of currant." Medium body. Chewy tannins and a lingering finish of vanilla and berries. Finally showing enticing fruit flavors.
