Chateau Pichon-Longueville Baron is a winery located in the Pauillac region of Bordeaux, commonly referred to as "Baron" or Pichon Baron. Baron Raoul Pichon de Longueville inherited one part, while the remaining part was passed on to his three sisters, becoming Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. The magnificent castle was managed by the baron starting in 1851.Since 1987, Pichon Baron has been owned by the French insurance company AXA.
"Chateau Pichon Baron 2008 is one of the richest and most concentrated Pauillac wines of 2008."After the inky/purple color come the aromas and flavors of black currants, blackberries, charcoal, coffee, and licorice. This 2008 vintage is exceptionally full-bodied, with smooth tannins and undeniable charm. This gorgeous, proportionate, and ethereal 2008 vintage should effortlessly age for 20 years or more. Considering the actual pricing of many 2008 vintages, this is a wise choice."
Grape Varieties:
71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot
