[Chateau Margaux 2003]
Robert Parker rating: 93/100
Lafon Chateau Rocher has a long history, with the first mention of this estate dating back to 1650. Lafon Chateau Rocher was awarded Grand Cru Classé 4 (Fourth Growth) in 1855. The local soil is primarily gravel, which provides good natural drainage, while clay helps regulate water flow and provides the necessary moisture for the vines.
"Chateau Margaux 2003 is fully mature on the nose, with a rich fruit core complemented by blackberry and cedar wood. It exhibits subtle fungal characteristics that were not previously detected in the bottle."As aeration increases, the smell of rust gradually fades. The taste is medium to full-bodied, with slightly dry tannins; strong black pepper and five-spice powder finish, leaving a long aftertaste. There is little difference between drinking it now and opening a bottle within the next 10 years.
Grape variety:
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc
Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
