[Domaine de Baron'Arques 2010]
Robert Parker rating: 91/100
Located in the Languedoc region within the Limoux appellation of France, Domaine de Baron‘Aqrues is quite an old estate and one of the main estates in Limoux.Domaine de Baron‘Aqrues, originally named Domaine de Lambert, has a history that dates back to the 17th century.Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and her two sons purchased the estate in 1998, reorganized the vineyards, and renovated the winemaking facilities.
The grape varieties planted in the estate come from Bordeaux and the Rhône Valley. The wine is generally rich, with a deep pomegranate red color. The aroma is concentrated and accompanied by intense scents of blackcurrant, tobacco, and spices. The taste is fresh and clear, combining black fruits with a round and delicate texture. Can be stored for about 15 to 20 years.
"Domaine de Baron‘Arques 2010 reminds me of Washington State Bordeaux blends, which abandon the sweet blackberry and blackcurrant-like fruit mixed with licorice, graphite, spices, and toasted flavors; instead, it offers a medium to full-bodied, mature, and well-textured red wine with a lot of structure, high-quality tannins, and an excellent finish. It will have a lifespan of 10-12 years or more."
Grape varieties:
51% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Syrah, 6% Malbec
