[Dominus Napa Valley 2014]
Robert Parker rating: 92/100
Christian Moueix, the owner of Chateau Petrus, studied in California and was well aware of the region's winemaking potential. After years of research and searching, he finally partnered with the vineyard "Napanook" in Napa Valley to produce wine, officially starting production in 1983. This collaboration became another highly acclaimed top-tier French-American wine.Dominus uses grapes exclusively from the Napanook estate for winemaking, so naturally, Dominus employs Petrus's winemaking techniques. Many wine critics have praised it as the best Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa.
"Dominus Napa Valley 2014 is a sensual, full-bodied, and complex red wine, with aromas of red/black currants, cedar wood, tobacco, spice box, and licorice." The color is a dense pear/ruby/purple, very much like Napanook.Just like most 2014 wines, this fine wine is already ready to drink and can be aged for about 25 years.
Grape variety:
86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot
