[Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge 2015]
James Suckling rating: 97/100
Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte was revamped by French supermarket magnate Daniel Cathiard after he purchased the estate in 1990, bringing it back to the top tier of Pessac Leognan.Due to the unique terroir conditions of this region, it is suitable for growing both red and white grapes, making it one of the few areas in Bordeaux where both red and white wines are excellent.Robert Parker once awarded both the red and white wines 100 points in 2009 and 2010, making it a force to be reckoned with!
"Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge 2015 is a very refined and precise young wine, with wonderful depth and intensity." Full-bodied and sensual. It exhibits characteristics of blueberries and blackcurrants, with undertones of walnuts and chocolate. The tannins have a lovely texture."
